The Queue Window

iPSP uses a queue so that you can set up many conversions and let them run in the background:

After you add the first video via the Encode Video for PSP... menu additional videos are added here with the + button.

If you decide that you don't want to convert a video, click the - button to remove it from the queue. When you are satisfied with your choices and are redy to begin, click the Start button.

The Conversion Process

After you press the Start button, the Queue Window is used to display status information about jobs that are running, yet to begin and finished:

For each job, the Queue Window shows information about the video file settings. If a job is running, realtime status information (current number of frames being processed every second, current bitrate being used and how many seconds of the source video have been processed) is shown. When a job is clicked, the settings information is displayed in white text and realtime stats are displayed in black. In addtion, the upper area one the Queue Windows displays a more detailed summary of the currently running job's settings.

Status indicators

Each job in the Queue Window has a color-coded status marker next to it, whose meaning is described below:

Information about Completed Jobs

When a job in the queue is completed, selecting it gives you different options:

The upper area of the Queue Window shows the name of the original video clip, the PSP-compatible name it was saved as, the size of the PSP video clip file and the framerate at which it was converted. Converted files are saved into the iPSP folder, which is located inside the Movies folder in your Home Directory.
